The mighty leadwood (Combretum imberbe), the tallest bushwillow in Southern Africa is an impressive tree that grows up to 20m in height. The leaves are eaten by kudu, impala, grey duiker and giraffe, while elephant also eat small branches. The presence of leadwood is often an indication of good farming soil. Interestingly, the gum that exudes from damaged areas on the stem is edible and forms part of the diet of the San people. The Herero name is omumboromboga. #discoverohorongo #entdeckenohorongo #namibiasafari #africantrees #namibiatourism (at Namibia, Africa) https://www.instagram.com/p/CfDmNi5NXwH/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
