For Halloween I wanted to be real simple with my hair (key: my own hair) So: cornrows!
Going for a fairy-esque look, I found a white wig for my costume that I added faux flowers to with bobby pins
I did find it on Amazon cuz my beauty supply store just didn't have what I wanted.
The right side (my left) is how it came out the bag after an intake shake. The other was me working on fluffing and cutting the ends to start shaping it and add some more "afro" to it
I tried it on, fixed it, picked it, and cut it over two days to make sure I liked it. I tested the flowers beforehand and decided on this pattern day of
And it's pretty lightweight and comfy! The only thing is that it comes medium cap and I have a big head, but because it's an afro it wasn't too bad. I only used the inside clips cuz I was just gonna do pics; the connecting strap would be fine too.
And it came out great!
Looking for 4C wigs
Does anyone know of any companies, preferably Black owned, that make 4C wigs? It's so hard to find them! I'm especially looking for afros. When I've searched, the "kinky" wigs look to be around 4A. I got one already from Her Given Hair. I was looking at another one, but I watched an unboxing vid and after it was washed it was straight. But I want a real, glorious, afro wig. Something like:
It doesn't have to be that big, but that's the style of afro I'm looking for. I also like the 4C wash and go look:
I got 4C hair so I want wigs that look like my hair. Cause i'm trying to cut it back down to a buzzcut but I want the flexibility to rock an Afro without having to wait for it to grow back out.
@anyone that buys Afro/kinky textured wigs
Where y’all get em from? I know I’ve seen it around but I cant find any that don’t cost over 100$. Help plsssss thanks 🙏🏽👽

Some ✨fun hairstyles and accessorizing✨ I did since classes started
I crocheted this [huge ass] afro wig today. It only took 5 hours to do and 5 packs of hair (way less time but way more hair than thought 😂)
I used a stretchy mesh cap with the big holes and a crochet hook for hair. I never did this before so pls
I chopped and shaped it up since it was so big. The hair I got was for kinky twists, which are over like 20". But I wanted this color 😂
It came out pretty lit!
Since I wanted to stretch it out a bit, I braided the hairs and dipped the wig in boiling water. Here's when braided and when it's still damp:
When it was dry, I plucked it out and cut it a bit more. I still have some straighter ends to go over, but the same happens with my own hair after a cut (so this isn't unrealistic)
The back, which looks pretty natural 😳
I really like how I can just slap this thing on even with big flat twists. So no wig cap needed besides the actual cap it's when on. And this is the brand I used in the colors copper and 30.
Overall, I think I did well 😩 I've never had an afro wig either, so I'm getting used to her (she'll eventually get a name!). And I'm modeling the form a bit after my own hair but with shorter bangs, so bangs will take a little while 😃
also, do note: this is synthetic hair. It won't look 100% exactly like human hair 😂
