JOEBOY ANNOUNCES FIRST UK HEADLINE TOUR

From West Africa to London to Latin America, Joeboy has been making serious waves across the world in recent years. Now the Nigerian hitmaker has announced a mini headline tour of the UK, taking in dates in London, Manchester and Birmingham in May and June 2023.

With a UK fan-base hungry to see him perform live, tickets are expected to go quickly - so with this in mind Joeboy’s team have shared a registration link for fans to sign up for priority access to avoid any disappointment - here.

“I wanted to give all my UK fans access to my upcoming shows, I felt sharing a sign up link ahead of the tour would be the most fair option for this.” Joeboy says “I love my UK fans and I can not wait to bring my live show to London, Manchester and Birmingham.”

The Afropop star will be performing tracks from his upcoming album, Body & Soul. Dropping in April, the 14 track LP boasts tracks full of love, good vibes and happiness - filled back-to-front with Joeboy’s trademark free-flowing lyricism and radiant riddims, and featuring contributions from a wealth of Nigerian talent.

Having established himself as one of Afrobeats' biggest hitmakers, Joeboy has accrued over three billion streams, working with cohorts such as Diplo, CKay and Mr Eazi. Known for penning love songs which pull from African and Caribbean vibes, his music has garnered global media support from outlets such as Rolling Stone, COLORS, Vice, Billboard, Complex, and The FADER.

The Lagos native released his debut EP Love & Light in November 2019 and appeared on the #1 single in 2020 ‘Nobody’ with DJ Neptune and Mr Eazi. He followed this early success with 2021’s debut album Somewhere Between Beauty & Magic. The 14-song LP received rave reviews, with Rolling Stone declaring it as "one of the year’s best albums''. It was just the beginning for Joeboy as his next track ‘Sip (Alcohol)’ became his biggest single to date, fast approaching 700 million streams worldwide. With the track topping Apple Music’s streaming chart in 17 countries, Joeboy would finish 2021 as the year’s most streamed artist worldwide on Audiomack.

Event: Afri’fusion Intensive Showcase 2016 – 9th July 2016

 Initiative.dkf’s Afri’fusion Intensive Showcase 2016, Charity Fundraiser: an evening of live dance and music, and the main event: Intensive Crew ‘16, to raise money for performing arts charity DreamArts Ltd.

 The evening will include an exclusive performance from GOP x TBOYz Dancers, and features live PAs from the likes of Award Winning Artist and MOBO nominee Mista Silva, AfroBrit songstress Vicky Sola, World Changer: Mikel Ameen, the multitalented Trayc Selasi, the charismatic Kelz TBK and many more!

 The showcase is the finale to Initiative.dkf’s dance programme which kicked off early June ‘16. The first of its kind, in just 16hrs, 10 participants seized the opportunity to learn 12 styles from 10 UK Afrobeats’ dancers/ choreographers.

 The intensive programme brought together choreography from @CoriDLionne , @DKFash , GOP Dancer’s @FumyGOP and @PatienceGOP , I Am Movement’s @IAmRuphie , Homebros’ @KurtySwift , @Official_CeeCee_Coco , @ReginaEigbe , @Charlelie_Matu and MLM’s @xSammySunshinex.

These 10 dancer/choreographers have worked with some of the biggest names within African international/ AfroPop sector, including: WizKid, FuseODG, Wande Coal, Awilo Longomba, Patoranking, Tiwa Savage, Davido, David Guetta, Emeli Sandé & More!

 With a focus on arts, diversity, community and charity; participants will perform all they have learnt alongside invited youth dance groups from across London. The growing buzz for Afrobeats, Pop and contemporary sound provided the perfect medium to share the often transformative and healing power of the arts. So this latest treat from the unfunded burgeoning arts collective Initiative.dkf (who have provided PopUp Dance sessions, the widely positively received Melanin Box Festival, and other firsts), will have a percentage of proceeds donated to an arts charity each year as part of the programme.

Strictly Entertainment Music (SEM) togetherwith UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) Nigeria is proud to announce the launch of The Afrobeat Educational Roadshow (TAER) in Lagos Nigeria.

Following a successful five seasons of the Afrobeat Educational Roadshow in the UK, TAER is the foremost networking initiative in Britain for African entertainment entrepreneurs, and aims to bridge the gap between industry professionals and commercial and governing bodies.

The Afrobeat Educational Roadshow taking place on Saturday 21st March 2015 at the prestigious venue, Mìlíki Private Members Club, 7b Etim Nyang Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos will bring together leading industry experts in music and film from both the UK and Nigeria to address key issues that affect the progress of the creative industries. Working in conjunction with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), the lead government organization in the United Kingdom that supports bilateral trade, the Nigerian edition of TAER is set to further develop such dialogue between both countries.

With the steady rise in Nigeria’s creative industry, through a series of panels the event aims to explore some of the core issues facing the sector such as intellectual property and rights management in a global market, the business of branding and the future of Nigeria’s entertainment sector.
