Why do you do this? I do it because it really doesn’t take that much to make things better, or even the best they can be. My mother is full of admiration for people who wake up each morning and sweep the streets in front of their houses or shops. They know the wind, or mindless walker-by, is likely to be depositing something unpalatable right on their door step as soon as they’re done. But they still wake up and clean every day - because for that short moment - to the best of their power, they have made the space around them the best it can be. So, when I’m at my own best, I’m always trying to see how I can do the same. Be it with the way things already are - in our physical environment or simply the clothes we put on. And from my heart, in the work I create - how I can bring each emotion and visual to it rich and truest point, while still keeping to the whole story. Even if it is to move the wonder of it closer to perfection by a millimeter or two, it is always worth the effort.
