Dirección: 1627 New Hampshire Ave NW, Washington, DC 20009 The Garifuna Settlement Day takes place within the context of the “International Decade of Peoples of African Descent: Recognition, Justice and Development (2015 - 2024)” proclaimed by the United Nations in 2014. The venue celebrates the resistance and resiliency of the Garifuna people and culture, which was proclaimed a “Master Piece of the Intangible Patrimony of Humanity” by UNESCO in 2001.
