even after a decade of therapy and what the mentors referred to as 'reconditioning', there was still an air of uncertainty in the way mirage moved, in the way he made a decision. at the moment, he hovered at the edge of the fortitude plaza, eyes tracking the movements of the crowds, supes and non-supes alike, debating whether to enjoy the festivities or not. crowds had never been ... daniel's 'thing'. he'd managed to skip every day of fortitude celebrations in the prior years, mainly due to his unwillingness to be surrounded by chaos, but this time, there was an odd urge to, at least, take a brief look at what the city had arranged for the celebration.
as he made his way to one of the stalls, daniel wondered, knowing where he originally was from, whether he was included in the celebration.
daniel wandered around aimlessly, wide-eyed and overwhelmed by the seemingly endless rows of stalls. how did all of these fit into the plaza? and what should he do now? as he pondered to himself, mirage crashed into someone, startling a surprised yelp out of him. "sorry!" this is ridiculous, daniel groused to himself, face burning in embarrassment. he could only hope that he didn't crash into a civilian. "sorry, i didn't see you there. i was ..." his hand flapped uselessly by his side. "yeah."
