I've never been on top of beauty trends but I always take care of myself. Since of late I've been working a lot and now that #Everyday is finally out I can take a breather. So a part of that is #selfcare which includes #skincare. I do daily cleansing and moisturizing with oils then I apply sunscreen if it's day time. Occasionally I use a mild tumeric and lime mask and then I have a blast with some amazing moisturizing masks. Right now I'm just enjoying the skin I'm in!

Who is Afyah?

Afyah, the uptown rebel, hails from St. Andrew and is a newcomer to the music scene. Previously she studied Architecture and ventured into related professions, most recently teaching painting at popular “paint & sip” classes on Kingston’s social scene. She is the daughter of former actor Patrick Prendergast popularly known for his role as Sammy on Jamaican Sitcom ‘Lime Tree Lane’. Naturally she was drawn to the creative field of acting and appeared in a number of local tv shows as a child. This penchant for the arts developed into an interest in visual art, poetry, dance and music. Afyah boasts experience performing in dance from Wolmer’s Dance Troupe to winning a medal in the JCDC Visual Arts competition to winning the award for Best Lifestyle Blog in the Caribbean in 2014.

Despite being exposed to a creative background she embarked on a traditional path which put a strain on her creative expression. Since then she decided to seriously pursue her goal in 2018 to become a recording artist having already touched on other forms of art. Afyah’s musical influences range from Rihanna to Daft Punk and she’s interested in showcasing her authentic self on her tracks by maintaining aspects of Jamaican musicality while embracing other international genres. Like her music - a mash-up of musical styles - Afyah is a multi-faceted artist who is intent on setting fire to stereotypes while taking listeners on an infectious and fun journey.Her debut single embodies some of Afyah’s experiences of shedding the mold she was cast in to live the best version of her life.
