8) 🎁 book that was surprisingly good - hmm... nothing came to my mind immediately, but I think Hunger Games could be the one (well three actually :D) - in the way that it was pretty popular at the time of their release and lots of talking about and the summary - basically cruel fighting for survive - didn’t sound like something I would really enjoy (so not quite sure what actually made me to start reading really...), but I did and it was also the book(s) that I “couldn’t stop reading” which was something happening only after long time with some book(s). (not that I wouldn’t be enjoying books, but you know, sometimes you enjoy a book very much and sometimes you just can’t stop reading until its end :) )

15)  🏝 summer book recommendation - is it meant like reading for summer? Well I’m generally very bad at recommending because I think it’s very individual and I’m bit afraid to say - go read this it’s great, because someone might not like it and I’d feel bad. Also not sure what to do with the “summer book” - for me books are either good that I enjoy reading or bad that I couldn’t read and it doesn’t matter what season it is, but... as I was writing this, books by Cecelia Ahern came to my mind, I like how she wrote - she has sometimes some sort of a mysterious element(s) in the story (not always though), usually little bit (or more) romantic and easy to read. To name some book - Thanks for the Memories or One Hundred Names. 

Also books by Madeleine Brent could be somewhat “summer reading” - the stories are usually somewhat adventurous, involve some interesting secret in the past and usually involve bit of romance too. They’re pretty similar, but I like her writing a lot. Haha, I just looked in the wikipedia to look for the titles in english and found out it’s actually a man, who used woman name for writing. Ok, his writing then lol. Anyway my favourite are probably The Capricorn’s Stone and Merlin’s Keep. 

And of course books about Moomins by Tove Jansson are probably good for summer reading if you don’t mind reading children books (I don’t :) )

33) 😂 the funniest scene - hmm... I’m afraid I can’t think of any particular scene that would be very funny, sorry. Well I smiled many times when reading Discworld books (mainly the earlier books, later are somewhat more serious), also during reading Harry Potter and I remember laughing a lot during reading Moominsummer Madness (yes, moomin books. I read it at college for the first time by the way, it was time when they were releasing rest of moomin books in our country, until that time only three of them was released here), but no particular scene is coming to my mind, sorry...

3. Fantasy or sci-fi?

Fantasy. I like sci-fi, too, just a little bit less than fantasy =)

6. Bad plot with good characters or good plot with bad characters?

Ahh, good characters in a bad plot. Absolutely sure about this one. Really, good characters (or just relatable sometimes) can save the book for me.

10. English books or books in your native language?

Books in my native language. I’m a translator, I have to keep some kind of balance to avoid language interference. Though, if I know for sure that Russian translation of an English book isn’t good (*cough* HP and the Cursed Child *cough*) I’ll read it in original.

(There is a matter of fanfiction, though, that I mostly read in English. And not because the fanbase is bigger, but because I’m more tolerant to faulty stylistics, spelling mistakes and such in English fics, than in Russian. I’m very picky about fics in Russian, like, I have my favourite authors and I rarely thread beyond my little sanctuary (only when I’m desperate or the original itself is a Russian thing). I think the only fic I dreamed about lately that’s not from my favs is “Тонкости приручения фантастических тварей“ (if any of you, guys, like FBaWtFT and gramander and read in Russian, it’s brilliant, BRILLIANT).)

16. Wait to marathon a series or read as they’re released?

To answer your question whether “anyone ever can wait till a series is over” I can and I wait for the whole series to come out, unless it’s unknown whether there is going to be another book. Few exceptions are things like Harry Potter. You simply couldn’t wait. But yeah, usually I binge read book series…

23. Be your favourite character or be their best friend?

Oh man, this is hard… At first I thought to be their best friend, but suddenly I’m not so sure. It depends on a favourite character. Well, my current favourite character is Newt Scamander (he IS a book character first and there is a book, even though it’s written by him not about him, but we get glimpses of his character and also the movie characterisation is official, so) and okay, I’d rather be his best friend.

It’s a sunny Bank Holiday Monday, that is unheard of so I’m pretty chuffed about that, but yesterday I was invited round for a meal and it was so out of the blue it made my day!

Aww, you’re so lovely, thanks!!  I’d have to add type #1 ‘the cool mutual’ along with the two you sent me just because you’ve stayed with me throughout all of my little crazes! I seem to remember following you when I came across your ‘bob the dog’ Dumb Witness gifset. So fab to know it’s the mutual love for Poirot that made us come across each other 😊

Ooh interesting question! I’ve never actually carved pumpkins before, and I’m not exactly a master wrapper, so I’d fancy trying something new for a change and opt of the pumpkin carving.Marigold: Do you listen to what’s on the radio?

This probably won’t surprise you…no I don’t. Most modern pop just doesn’t appeal to me whatsoever. I used to listen to Radio 2 in my early teens and tune in to Steve Wright in the Afternoon for ‘The Non-Stop Oldies’ but that’s all I’ve ever really used radio for.

If you were able to bring all of those things together to summon me I don’t think I’d ever want to leave! 😂 I’m starting to think how I could possibly mix those five things…..I’d pop the Beatles on, plonk Arthur down on the nearest sofa, put the puppy on his lap, hand him the cup of tea, and I could drape the winter coat around his shoulders like a blanket. Right! Sounds like a plan. Let’s get on with this summoning business straight away please.

fairy: what would you call your aesthetic?

Classic, casual. Old-worldy, Countryside-cosiness. Light. Warm. Comfortable.

dragon: would you rather grow wings and soar through the sky or grow gills and dwell in the water?

Basically would I rather be Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds or in an Octopus’s Garden? 😉

If this is the surreal world I can definitely be both. Both then, wherever the mood takes me. The sky would be where I’d hang out when I’m happy and quite literally have my head in the clouds. I’d use the ocean as a retreat and going by the lyrics of Octopus’s Garden it would cheer me up in no time.
