I am once again submitting my commentary on the grand finale of Auric plays New War!

"the whitest person in the system" your drifter and my operator should be buddies, i made my kid pasty white too lol

you can put decorations anywhere in the camp, including the area beyond the orbiter and that cool lil' cave

interesting observation: when wally holds out their hand for your operator to shake, it's actually lotus's severed hand from the beginning of the quest

it took a hot minute for me to realize where i was until i saw the classroom and it sent chills down my spine, warframe does such a wonderful job with the "horror" atmosphere

so that photograph is indeed the operator's parents.  you get it as a decoration after the quest, and if you set it somewhere then change your operator's hair and suit color, the suit and hair colors in the picture will change to match your operator (but not your drifter, although this may just be a technical thing since you can make your drifter look entirely different).

 for your entertainment, here's a clip of me seeing the operator's reaction to the whole situation

"we started this together, we're gonna finish it together" that was sort of my reasoning too when it came to choosing the operator or drifter

returning to our proper orbiter felt so nice after all the shit we just went through, lol

yeah, the unum tower is literally made of meat, and she lets the ostrons harvest parts of herself to eat, which is some of the wildest lore in a fantasy sci-fi game

whatever the unum is, it seems that she can control time to come degree

so regarding the thing about the ship eating the sun: i play a lot of destiny 2, which is another sci-fi fantasy shooter game, and one of the first story quests ended in disabling a ship that could blow up our sun.  so when i saw that one of the endgame quests in warframe now had us disabling a ship that could blow up the sun, i was like "oh shit, so that's where the thing wound up, huh?"

"SHUT THE FUCK UP, BALLAS" what a mood

lotus's line to ballas was such a powerful moment for me.  "you dreamed of a margulis you could control, but she chose death over you."  all of ballas's atrocities were the result of him being butthurt that his girlfriend broke up with him.

also can i just say the music during this part was incredible: the new war theme playing when we see ballas, then when lotus walks in we hear the main melody of "this is who we are", and then when we walk in we hear the first few notes of "second dream"

auric: "so when do we get to kill lotus??" warframe: "your wish is granted" auric: "wAIT NO PLEASE GO BACK --"

ballas's dialogue in the final fight is so heavy, he checks all the marks for a truly vile and abusive man.  it gives warframe such life and makes it all feel so real, even though we're immortal children with space magic piloting mechanical meatsacks.  this boss fight truly felt like the stakes mattered, b/c ballas is just such a horrible person, and we just have to put a stop to him no matter what.

this makes lotus's response so much more powerful, too, calling ballas a liar, a small man, a mask with nothing behind it.  i cheered out loud when i heard that.

"I...SAID...STOP!!" yassss lotus, slay queen!!

what was that thing ballas said earlier?  somethign about people "craving the piss-warm comfort of being told what to think"?  turns out ballas also craves the warmth of piss lmao

personally i would have preferred filleting ballas with paracesis, but getting the life literally sucked out of him by lotus works too

"OH WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT" ah yes, the universal reaction to seeing wally's true form for the first time

the music at the end when we talk to lotus is so beautiful, peaceful and bittersweet, and this whole scene being a parallel of the second dream only the other way around...ugh, it got me good.  the story of warframe up to this point is, really, two broken people finding each other and seeing family in each other, and overcoming their nightmares together.  a videogame story doesn't have to go this hard, but warframe does, and it's such an incredible experience.

your explaination through all of the choices before settling on lotus is so beautiful, truly.  got me a little teary just listening to it.

and for a change of mood, finishing new war and realizing how many people have hoodwinked you to protect you from spoilers lol

some concluding thoughts:

firstly, thank you so much for sharing your warframe journey with all of us.  like i said before, warframe's story is one of my top gaming experiences, and it's always a joy to watch other people experience it for the first time and loving it as much as i did.  you have such a wonderful and insightful way of experiencing warframe, and it has been amazing watching your journey through it.

now, some of my own thoughts about the implications of the new war.  here's the thing about wally, the void, and eternalism: under eternalism, every possible version of events exist at once, and being able to control the power of void allows you to bypass being "stuck" in your own version of events.  the moment the operator shook hands with wally, wally made it so that every single version of the operator that ever existed now exists within you.

remember when ballas said "you can't kill the devel"?  he meant it literally: canonically, tenno can be killed but don't stay dead (this was alluded to during war within, when each time your operator died to the orokin snake thing, you were shown floating in the void, and then back at the last checkpoint).  basically, wally has made it so that the operator will always be the version that lives.

here's where things get interesting though: if the drifter was the one who didn't shake hands with wally, how did they end up connected to the operator?  the drifter doesn't have void powers, and yet they are connected to the operator, and now they have void powers...?  a paradox, indeed...one might say...a duviri paradox...

And then his eyes had come to acknowledge that she wasn't the ugly Muggle-spawn she was supposed to be. And now, he could feel her; her touch across his skin and her essence still waltzing in his veins from the day on the bathroom floor. That was four; smell, sound, sight and touch. What was the fifth? Oh yes. Taste.

He's sub-consciously taking a liking to her... Sort of. Whether he likes it or not. Poor Draco... XD <3
