[Beep] Stephanie, it's Tim Drake. It's Saturday at... 6:15am. I know that you sleep in on the weekends, but I hoped to catch you before you slept. Cass came by and I know you're behind this. Look, if you wanted to talk, you can just say so. You don't have to send Cass after me. It went... I'd rather talk to you than a machine. I'd appreciate it if you got back to me. Get back to me when you can, my number is- You know my number.
"You’re so vain. You probably think this song is about you…” It was her own stupid fault for leaving the ringer on, as Carly Simon echoed through her bedroom. Stephanie moaned in annoyance, what time was it? She squinted at the clock.
Seriously?
Her hand snaked out of her sheets and silenced the obnoxious ringtone. Timothy damn Drake. It was hopefully important, but she didn’t feel like talking to him anyway, so she let it vibrate in her hand as it hung from her blankets.
A dark haired child mumbled sleepily and she tousled his shaggy hair. Huh, maybe they’d take him for a haircut soon. He was almost four and had his own bed, but it was rare for Steph to tell him no when he wanted to sleep with her. Especially not lately.
Voice mail tinged so she sighed and actually made herself listen to the message. Really? Because she totally couldn’t tell it was Tim and her phone didn’t tell her the time he called. Oh. Well, I guess Cass was back in town then. Steph smiled, a little evilly pleased that he blamed her when she hadn’t done anything.
Oh, that was great. She shot him a quick text then, just for good measure.
[Outgoing: Timbucktoo] If you call me before noon again on Saturday, I will end you.
