agathys lifts a brow as the demigods file into her apothecary, one by one, filling it enough to bump into the shelves and tables. “well,” she snaps her fingers and each of the crows that follow the coffin are suspended in the air and trapped in a hovering bubble. they look curled and peaceful within it, like babies slumbering in a rocking womb. “bringing the nosoi into my shop must have been your stupidest idea yet.” agathys isn’t one to forget payment, and counts her coins before she clears her counter for the box to be placed upon.

as she hovers a hand over the ancient wood, the purple runes glow alive again on the cover: ‘he who opens pandora’s box, beware.’ she smiles. agathys chants something in an unfamiliar language and the words fade, the spell unbinding from the coffin. 

dexter’s necklace hums and pulls towards the box.

𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐘𝐒 tracks down the 𝐒𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐀𝐏𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐄. she looks like a grandmother ready to scold a grandchild. as she sees him, she manifests a 𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐊𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄. there was a pink 𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐄 𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐙 𝐆𝐄𝐌 hanging off at the end in the shape of a rose. “not so fast! wear this if you know what’s good for you.” it floated over to them, connecting itself around their neck. “it’ll connect you more to your parent.” with a snap she disappeared.

Yves frowns at the loud woman and tries to dodge her advances. “Not interested,” he insists, but like everything around him now, even the ugly necklace turns out to be magical. It goes around his neck all by itself, to his utter horror. With a groan, Yves pulls on the gem, utterly unimpressed with it. “Pink. Very original,” he rolls his eyes and walks past Agathys.

At the sight of sweeping white hair, Corinth nearly fell back on his ass. The gestures, tone, and initial appearance of the greying aged woman unearthed a wave of memories. Perhaps he truly had been transported to heaven after all–but now that she came to face him, loop and flick a string of magic in his direction, the young musician realized this wasn’t actually his grandmother at all.

Her words were swift, and by the time Corey lifted his puppy dog brown gaze from inspecting the glistening gift the woman vanished. He stared out toward and then beyond the open air she once inhabited, ashamed to find that in this moment he was far more curious to learn about her than his apparent father.
