Canyonlands Island in the Sky District
Canyonlands is like a more intimate Grand Canyon. Beautiful and you are right up there in it.
However, my fear of heights and the sandstone cliff drops are not a good combination. Luckily Zippy (and I) had no desire to look over the edge. Just thinking about it now makes me short of breath and sick to my stomach.
Can't you just imagine the water rushing off this?
Even now I want to yell at Bryan to get away from the edge! What is he thinking? Zippy really had a great time looking for shrimp and frogs in the potholes.
There weren't any that we could see, because it had just rained the day before. Zippy didn't care though and she told everyone we came across about how the baby frogs and shrimp lived in the puddles.
Although we just had a couple of hours to touch on Canyonlands Island in the Sky District you can see from the pictures how much fun we had. I absolutely can't wait to go back, and hit the Needles District too!
