On Thursday, February 4, 2016, an investigation by the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit resulted in the arrest of a two Elgin residents on felony drug charges.
Lee Dennis Mabry, age 51, of Elgin, was charged with two counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (heroin) Within 1,000 Feet of a Senior Citizen Complex – (Class X Felony). Mabry remains in the custody of the Boone County Jail with a bond of $200,000.
Lea Y. Hodge, age 49, of Elgin, was charged with Unlawful Possession With the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (alprazolam) Within 1,000 Feet of a Senior Citizen Complex – (Class 2 Felony) and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (heroin) – (Class 4 Felony). Hodge remains in the custody of the Boone County Jail with no bond.
On Thursday February 4, 2016, following a regional drug investigation, the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit, assisted by Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies and Belvidere Police Officers, arrested Lee Mabry on two counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled substance (heroin) Within 1,000 Feet of a Senior Citizen Complex. Lea Hodge was arrested for Unlawful Possession With the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (alprazolam) Within 1,000 Feet of a Senior Citizen Complex and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (heroin). Police seized heroin, Alprazolam (Xanax), United States Currency and a vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible. Each Class X Felony is punishable by 6-30 years in the Department of Corrections. A Class 2 Felony is punishable by 3-7 years in the Department of Corrections. A Class 4 Felony is punishable by 1-3 years in the Department of Corrections.
