The absolute average age of (US) tumblr users (above 18) is 38.21. Excluding the 16-18 bracket makes a considerable difference, hence the high number. My estimate for (above 16) would be roughly the same as global numbers. The absolute average age of (US) tumblr users (above 0) would have to be adjusted downward as well, but I don't have conclusive data for that, and don't think I can make an appropriate estimate for that.

Conclusion

Tumblr isn’t predominantly used by minors, and they’re by far not the largest demographic. The largest demographic appears to be consistently 18-24, with 25-34 as the second largest.
