The love of my life told me I'm a father figure to them.

I (31M) have had romantic affection for my co-worker (28) for Gods know how many years now. It took me far too long to realize how deep my emotions ran for them, and I sincerely regret it. If only I had recognized it sooner.

This morning, they opened up to me about their childhood. I was initially ecstatic, as they had never shared so much with me before, but I was left with devastation. They revealed that they saw me as a father figure.

My partner (30M) won't stop insisting on teasing me. Sometimes, I am convinced he's only jealous and relieved.

So uhh, the guy I liked..? He’s moving away. To another country. Soooo, yeahhhhhhhh. A couple of things were said, some frustration was involved, and we just decided it’s best to give each other some space for a while....... thank you for all your help n advice though!! 💓💓 my finals will start in 2 weeks, that’s a good thing. I’ve been focusing on studying all this while, but some days are just blah and you can’t stop thinking about things. Today was one of those days. It’s 1:45am here, time to hit the sack.

Tomorrow will be a good day for me, i can feel it in my bones 😊

I can totally respect your decision for giving each other space. Although I am sorry for you that your friend is moving away.

om the one who asked if a 17m and 15f were to big of an age gap. i just found out we are 23 months in difference

I mean, that definitely as big as that particular gap gets. Still, like, my point about the specificity of that gap wasn't so much about, like, that it would enable me to give more solid advice (it doesn't), but that it gives you a more accurate window to look at for making your own determinations. Age gaps can exist in some pretty grey areas, and you know your situation better than anyone on tumblr ever will.

If you have a therapist, it might be worth talking about your attraction to someone roughly two years younger than you (probably leaving out the consang bit) and maybe they can help you sort out how your own thoughts, feelings, and values align on that?
