Single older woman.
I spend a lot of time communicating with kids and a lot of time censoring myself around kids, but I was just thinking that I don't think I've ever censored myself around a kid out of concern for the kid's well-being. My concern is always for the sensibilities of the adult (the kids' parents, my bosses, other random adults, possibly the police).
I have never refrained from saying something to or around a child, or refrained from showing something to a child, out of concern that what I'm saying/showing might harm or distress the child.
My only limiting factor is always, always adult sensibilities.
There is one exception to this, one time I was concerned that showing something might distress the kids rather than the adults. And that is that I'm reluctant to show YouTube videos, because for some unknown reason, before playing Pete the Cat's Wheels on the Bus, YouTube plays an ad for Call of Duty, and I thought "This could scare my storytimers."
The only content I've ever thought could be genuinely "harmful to minors" is capitalism.
