AU Ficlet: Liam/Amara

Liam looked towards the sleeping body, her frame sweating. He could hear her softness of her voice as she whimpers in pain. Twisting and turning, the Templar Amara wasn't faring much, but it was common for those with going through lyrium withdrawal. Liam had to watch her pained expression as she suffered and disciplined herself away from the substance. It was a crutch, used by the Chantry to keep the Templars in check. 

At times, Liam felt pity for the Templars. As a seeker, he had no need for lyrium, and his abilities were similar to that of the Templar. But the horrors he had witnessed of the remnants of the Templar order, twisted their forms from red lyrium. Liam had seen Amara's face, the horror of her former comrades, trapped by addiction and manipulation of their leader. 

Today, Liam made sure to make the food easier to digest. He had noticed on their travels that Amara had lost weight. He wished he had noticed earlier of Amara picking away at her food, the disinterest in the food hiding her internal pain. 

A soft groan as he turned to the sleeping body, her eyes bright and awake. "Maker...."

His hand reached for her hand, grasping it to comfort her. "It's okay, Amara." 

Amara closed her eyes, the sweat on the brow forming. With a handkerchief, he wiped the sweat off. He could see her struggling for breath for a moment, before seeing the confusion. "What is happening?"

His thumb brushed against her fingers to console her. "We're resting up at camp before we head to the elven ruins," Liam murmured softly. "We are safe." 

Relief spread across Amara's face. "Good, I thought I was in the Circle..." 

Liam tried to hide his grimace. He knew what Amara was referring to. The incident that he had to investigate before the Templars and Seekers broke away from the Chantry. The event that had haunted Amara, enhanced by the effects of lyrium withdrawal. 

Although Liam wished he could help, the best he could do is be there for her. "You're no longer in the Circle. Everything will be alright."

Cipher 12- Fluff, jaded, vice

Fluff :: What hits their soft spot? Does anything them into emotional goo?

Probably a good holotv drama. Not the overly angsty, trashy sort, but more the stuff that builds up and climax and everything is ruined sort of dramas. 

Jaded :: Do they buy into the “happily ever after” ideal? What’s their standard?

Ha. Ha. Ha, no. Twelve doesn’t believe in a happily ever after. Most of his life revolves around surviving a brutal empire and not thinking much about the future, since his purpose is set, and hence there should never be a future for him. (that would probably change)

Vice :: What bad habits do they have? Is there something they would be ashamed of?

Falling asleep on the couch, whether it be watching a holotv drama or pull all-nighters to get work done.

12- Jealous

Twelve couldn’t help but stare at the picture right in front of him. 

The man, who’s smile was uncannily like his own, was of genuine warmth and happiness. His robes, marking him as a fresh Jedi Master, gave the impression that he was good natured and fortunate to be where he is. Unusually, he had the same cheek scar across his face as himself. Twelve knew the man in the picture didn’t get that scar from the tortures of Korriban, like Twelve had to endure.

Twelve knew he shouldn’t have opened those files that was given to him. He knew he couldn’t help but wish he was not the failure of a scientific project of the Sith.

In his sadness and anger, deep down he wished he was force-sensitive, like this man who shared his genes.

Kiran, 12, Szal- ϡ, ღ, ␛

Cut because another WoT (sooo much to type moonlighttan QQ)

Kiran:

ϡ - Kiran always made sure he meditates when he feels strong emotions. His uncle had a Jedi friend who would require his uncle’s help from time to time. During those times, the Jedi friend of his uncle would train Kiran on how to meditate. When the visits from the Jedi Friend got very slim, Kiran had already perfected how to keep his mind healthy and not dwell on negative thoughts and memories. 

ღ - It took Kiran around five years after Eklia’s death to realise that he loved her. It had never occurred to him because love was such a foreign feeling for him. What made him realise this was witnessing a civilian, suffering shock and dismay to watch her husband ripped to shreds by a pet tuk’ata of a Sith Lord. The civilian was crying for her love to return and vowing revenge. As Kiran helped the Republic treat her for shock, he related to the woman when he chased after Eklia’s former master who had killed her. 

␛ It would take a LOT to get Kiran angry. As mentioned with ϡ, he knows how to keep control of his emotions. However, the only thing that got him really angry was how Sith would not care about how they treat their subjects. Seeing it first hand when he was taken in by Imperial troops on his stunt on Balmorra confirmed the memory of working with his uncle to stop a madman sith from slaughtering his subjects when a cursed sith artefact was used. 

Twelve:

ϡ - Twelve is really good at hiding what he truly feels, and at times feel guilty as a result. He wants someone to share his feelings and his true opinions on various matters that bother him. But he hasn’t found the right person to burden those feelings and opinions, because as a subject for the Empire and part feeling so insignificant as a person, he shouldn’t be expressing those feelings to begin with. 

ღ - Twelve likes being in control. Like he does like it a lot. As a spy and a master of manipulation, he needs to keep himself in control to be able not to feel the emotions often associated with sex. The two times he let that slip of his emotion and feelings, he regretted it. (one of those times was with Amara) (yep) (cries)  

␛ Twelve has a lot of anger towards the Sith. Although they are his masters and that he works under Sith on a regular basis, he wished that he was never made under the genetics engineering program. He feels like he’s a pawn, and he hates having no control or choice on what he wants to be. He believes that the Sith took it out of him when the decide to make him. It is why he rarely wants to work for Sith, and when he does, he keeps his distance. 

Szal:

ϡ - Szal often thinks about his separated family. As a result, Szal doesn’t like to keep families apart. His former teacher (before Darth Marr) on Korriban found out about this and told Szal that he must kill the mother of a slave family and the eldest son, or Szal will be killed himself and fail his test. Szal chose the former, and that choice continues to haunt him for a long time. Eventually, he rarely thinks about his family as a result, although he dreams a lot that he was the one who killed his baby sister.  

ღ - Well, to be honest, Szal hasn’t had much experience in love. A sith initiate had taken an interest in him and tried to flirt outrageously with him during Szal’s time on Korriban. Szal obviously had no idea and didn’t come back the wiser, when the sith initiate got mad for Szal not returning his advances. The sith initiate taunted Szal for a duel, in which Szal killed him, thinking he was prick. 

␛ Szal holds a lot of anger for those who had abused him while he was on Alderaan as a slave. While wishing upon himself with his new powers to teach them a lesson, what holds him back is the fact that those who had viewed his life to be meaningless have families and vassals that Szal would never hurt and tear apart. Over time, his anger is more controlled but stronger than ever and he channels it with his apprenticeship under Darth Marr.

✄, ✿- Kiran, 12, Kira, Umida

Kiran: 

✄ - One of his pet peeves is keeping things bottled up. He prefers that people be frank and upfront on what they are feeling and their opinions. 

✿ - He probably had the most happiness when Eklia took him on a date while his uncle was doing a supplies run on Alderaan. It wasn’t very romantic, with ship bombing and all that debris, but they had a picnic and Eklia was wearing the jacket that Kiran bought for her. He’s happiest when he gets to spend time out in the open, and idling around. (HEY EL A TIP) 

Twelve:

✄ - I think he’s a pretty level headed dude, so i don’t think he’s got a pet peeve that really bothers him. The closest I can think for him is leaving food to go off, because growing up on Korriban and eventually military school, food was limited to ensure the specimens in his genetics program earnt their rations. 

✿ - I think what gets him to be happy would be a pet of sorts. He had a little turtle when on Korriban, but the turtle ran away (not because of him, but because of scary people on Korriban) 

Kira:

✄ - Being stingy and overly greedy. Kira’s a medic, and has seen the results of funding gone wrong or funnelling money to places that are not deserved in times of war and suffering. However, it is kind of hypocritical since Kira can sometimes put money to things that are fun. 

✿ - Probably the happiest was when she was on denova, with a group of mismatched crew to storm down Kephess’ army. Although Kira was very young and standing in Kephess’ cleaves when she shouldn’t have (I did once on Kira when I healed on her when I did NiM EC in game hahaha), it was fun because the crew got on well and they had a blast, even when casualties were high. 

Umida:

✄ - Leaving behind human foliage (hair, nail clippings, peeled off dead skin that caked the soles of your feet). It grosses her out and wonders why some Jedis did it… :x 

✿ - The early memory she had with her mother and older siblings. Although she was only two, she remembered her mother taking a day off doing surgery and spent time in the refugee camp, making some food and cookies for the children.
