We were originally planning for release during the Otome Steam Festival event, but things just didn't align in a way that we were able to get everything put together and tested to submit to Steam for review (which also takes a hot second and is completely out of our hands).
While writing for chapter 1 has been finished (yay!!!), we still need several music tracks and backgrounds to be completed for implementation, as well as a bit of time to make sure the game generally runs and operates fine due to its mechanics stretching regular Ren'py a bit thin. Since there are designated members responsible for the assets we need to release, there's not much I can do aside from cheer them on haha...!
While I'm mainly working on VLNG in the meantime, I am also getting ready to go back in and fix a puzzle or two in RYWD to make things easier, considering this is the first "level" of the game, but it's a bit hard for me to test functionality because certain mechanics only work on an older version of the engine (fingers crossed that'll be fixed soon!).
Anyway, really sorry to anyone who has been waiting for this game. I care about it deeply but I also have to operate on the caveat that for at least the first edition of the demo being released, much of the work is being done by students from my university who are doing this also for the love of the game and have other commitments to attend to. I'll see about hopefully expanding the team outside of its original roster to move things along for further releases, but for now, this is why I'm not promoting it as much. I want to wait until we're securely prepped and primed for launch!
