16. What’s a book others wouldn’t expect you to like?

I think if you looked at my bookshelves you wouldn’t be terribly surprised; there’s a lot of historical fiction, some heavy classics, a whole row of mysteries, some very fluffy fluff for tired days, and then all my school books that I dip into occasionally. I think probably the book I like best that’s farthest from my norm is My Name Is Asher Lev by Chaim Potok. It’s about a Jewish artist and his struggle with being true to both his art and his Jewishness, and it’s very serious and internal and does not end happily exactly, but it’s very true. I recommend it.

I read a fic where Fitz was pining over Jemma so much that it like really hurt him or something because he kept trying to restrain his feelings and he ended up hitting a punching bag really aggressively, it was post 3x11. I was wondering if there is anything like this where the story is like heavy angst about Fitz or simmons hold back there feelings for each other and it really hurts them. Wow I sound like Saran ok...

There are a couple (or more) fics where Fitz takes out his frustrations on a punching bag!  @agent-85 wrotePartners, but that’s probably too early in the timeline for what you’re asking, so we think it might be @notlovenotalways‘ Objects in Space.

As far as angst, we actually added a heavy angst tag, though we haven’t had time to post new tagged recommendations in quite a while.  Still, you might check it out!

Hi! Do you know any role reversal fics ? In which Jemma is the one hallucinating Fitz and all that ? I've seen gifsets but never a fic!

Hi there!

We’re drawing a bit of a blank -- there’s Do not stand at my grave and weepby @historygirlbites and @anythas-thoughts, where Jemma thinks she’s hallucinating Fitz at first, but that’s not quite what you might mean.  There’s also @lettertoelise‘s Close your eyes and look at me and Carry Me Anew, where Jemma dreams about Fitz without meeting him (Soulmate AU).

We also recommend @agent-85‘s And I Know Things Now (Many Valuable Things) where Jemma sort of hallucinates Fitz while she’s trapped inside the monolith.

for wip wednesday: the snow king by agent-85

Thank you for the suggestion!  However, at this point we have no reason to believe that The Snow King won’t be finished in a timely fashion.  We like to use WIP Wednesday to showcase WIPs that haven’t been updated in months and may have been abandoned–works where the author might be needing a bit of extra motivation and love!  So far as we know, @agent-85 is on top of it!

We are happy to recommend The Snow King, though!  It’s wonderful.

Yes, it exists!  We don’t have any in our fanfic rec repository, but we’ve seen some floating around Tumblr–for instance, @theradiointukyshead‘s Undelivered Note series or @agent-85′s Twin Soliloquies!
