Shino is not confrontational by nature but do not expect him to shy from battle. He would never turn away from a fight unless it compromises his true objective.
In fact, nothing excites him more than pitting against an opponent stronger than himself.
More often than not, Shino is very aware of his own strengths and weaknesses and can tell when an opponent is a bad match for him. Of course — that doesn’t mean retreat.
He doesn’t discriminate between his opponents. One mistake he would never make is underestimate them.
He has never dispatched his entire colony in battle before.
His true strength lies in his calm and in understanding his limits.
The kikai react to his emotions; they function best in battle without the pressure of anxiety or turbulent rage.
Contrary to popular belief, he’s not horrible at close combat and taijutsu, even if he tends to rely on his clan’s ranged techniques. His skills were above average from the start and only improved with Hinata’s and Kiba’s help.
// Roraku isn’t seeking romantic love outright; but it would be a lie to say she wasn’t the least bit curious. With what she’s read in her books and sees in young couples on the street, she wonders what it would feel like… completely giving herself to another.
☻: Person who could without a doubt make them happy.
// Silly as it might be, her father can always make her smile. He constantly dotes on his daughter with big hugs and words of encouragement - and still manages to embarrass her in front of her friends.
-— { ϟ } - "... Hey, Kaizu. Do you ever feel like just decking somebody?" Peering over the railing there on the roof, Roraku hung her head low and sighed in mild annoyance. Suffice to say, her day had been less than productive or pleasant. Incessant customers at her mother's store worked her to the bone, while disgruntled pencil pushers in the missions office made her want to strangle something... or God forbid, someone.
Though for everyone that she knew, Kaizu had always seemed to be the calmest of the bunch. Seriously, what was her secret? How did she manage the stress without ever showing it?
A B-rank Escort mission. Simple enough. It'd explain the rather...odd assembly of shinobi for the task. This was a time of high traffic in Konoha. Many young teams had been sent out recently and the more seasoned shinobi were absent, several assigned to goodwill missions with the other hidden villages. This was a time of rebuilding and healing after the Fourth War.
Kaizu Ageshio, Tokubetsu Jonin, aged 20. A former member of Root who's offensive abilities and Water affinity complimented Mika's defenses. A reasonable choice for the mission.
Yasu Kurusu, Genin, aged 15. This was a rather odd decision from the Hokage. If pressed, they'd probably say it was because Yasu was a budding shiobi with a good variety of skills who needed valuable field experience. Besides, the mission wasn't expected to be difficult and if nothing else Yasu would provide support.
The first meeting was awkward. Mika was suffering a hangover and attempting to alleviate the pain with coffee. How that would work she didn't know but it made her feel better. The crankiness led to terse, huffy replies from the young woman. She wasn't normally so grumpy but the previous night had been another binge. She knew better than to let herself go before a mission. It would pass in a few hours anyways. After receiving their information and the location of the meeting place with the team, the trio set out. Mika stopped by a shop to get some more coffee and a few pills for the headache. [The coffee tasted like piss but she never put cream or sweeteners in her drinks.] If it were possible her mood got fouler and by the time they were finally departing Mika was barking out orders like a retired veteran yelling at children playing in his yard.
."Keep up! We're expected before nightfall! Yasu, mind the bags! They better all be accounted for when we stop!" Yasu being the youngest and male faced the brunt of Mika's anger for now. She'd simmered down by the time they arrived at the meeting point but was still not feeling her usual self. When they met the archaeologists Mika quickly excused herself to be in a quiet, dark room for the night. Unfortunately she was sharing that room with her teammates. She would have to apologize sooner or later...
Send me an AU idea, and I will use it as a setting to write a 100 word fic about your muse and mine.
-— { ϟ } - “Point to starboard – unfurl the sails, you filthy bilge rats! We sail for smoother seas!!”
The crew was busy manning the ship inside and out, as their stalwart captain relayed one order after another. Standing at the helm, her first mate made ready to leave port, sweeping cinder hair behind her ear from the salty ocean breeze. If the clear color of the sky was any indication, then they would surely have a favorable wind today.
“Captain! We’d best be going if we want to outrun the Royal Navy!”
“Then take us out, Ms. Ageshio!” Sword in hand, the blonde leaped up onto the railing and pointed due west, where their next venture lay ahead.
