“Oh, no… Oh no no no…” Connor mumbled. His eyes were furrowed, squinting at the ground through his distress. It was dark, but not so dark that he should be able to completely miss a bright red hat, right? Apparently so. He ran a hand through his already unsightly hat-hair, grimacing at the thought that his costume might go incomplete for the rest of the night. Hurriedly, he glanced around, un-hunching his shoulders to see if anybody else had picked it up. No dice.
He gritted his teeth, letting out a quiet whine. It had to be done. He needed assistance. “Um-- excuse me?” he called out, tapping the shoulder of an unwitting passer-by. “Hi, sorry-- really sorry, but you wouldn’t have happened to see a hat on the ground anywhere, would you? A red one? Sort of-- like this,” he grabbed one of his many extra legs, tapping the red felt, “with little… eyestalks attached?” Connor reached up over his head, poking his fingers up to demonstrate. Just in case the poor soul wasn’t familiar with the concept of eyestalks.
