Non-pokemon Headcanon
So I know this isn't pokemon or muse related but it's in relation to an argonian oc I have?? Okay so we all know Argonians are reptiles right? BUT. they can function in cold environments(as is evident in the dockworkers of solitude and the argonian captain in solstheim) and also have mammalian properties such as breasts in their females. Now, if you ask me argonians aren't strictly reptiles, but are more along the line of pseudo-mammals much like early proto mammals were. They exhibit mostly reptilian traits, such as egg-laying and having scales. However, instead of cold-blooded they'd be mesothermic (much like today's great white sharks and leatherback sea turtles or dinosaurs) and can maintain a body temperature of around 75-80 degrees. They lay eggs like reptiles as has been stated in elder scrolls lore previously, but the females exhibit mammalian traits such as breasts/widened hips (which would mean they most likely gestate their young partially in utero, then develop an egg case around the partially developed fetus and allow the child to hatch outside the body) After the child is born, the females are capable of producing some milk to nourish them in the same way echidnas and platypus are able to, nursing their infants as humans do.
