Ok so this ep dear lord this ep.
So poppy and Ian have had a fun dynamic from season 1. Poppy wants to move on but she's to fucked up to leave, ian needs her to survive. That's the dynamic, it's great, love it. Codependent QPR! Wooo!

Cuz poppy ain't too fucked up to leave anymore, she had a normal healthy relationship, she's going to be a mother and the show keeps insisting she's ready for that. It isn't a scared little boy looking at a scared little girl anymore, it's a grown woman done with a scared little boys bullshit.
Which means that poppy and Ian need to hit a final resolution.
Season 1 they learned they needed to be equal partners. season 2, they learned they needed to fully leave behind the old work dynamic and work on the issues in their relationship. Season 3 they reset to Season 1, it is what it is.
But now season 4 is telling us it can't be what it is. Ian and Poppy can't have a happy "we can make this work this time" ending. this season ends with them split up permanently. Which means that if there's another season, Poppy probably won't come back.
I mean, she keeps mentioning the Netherlands and this ep really seemed to set up that
1. Poppy and Ian can't be together
2. Poppy wants to leave
3. Poppy has a plan for another life (specially one very far away) and has for a while
This is how you write off a charcter.
Idk this ep sucked ass. Like it's fun, it's compelling, but like were the fuck do you go from here without loosing or severely comprising one of the main characters!
