SynthV is basically a software that works similarly to Vocaloid, but is usually far more updated and full of really good ass fucking voice banks. It basically uses ai only to help do one thing: making it more smoother and to help make it easier to use for people so they don't have to go through hell to make it sound more comprehensive for most folk (and if the artist/coverist wants, they can still tune to their heart's content. I've heard a solaria cover where the start part was nearly impossible to tell wasn't human. still one of my favourite covers of that song). Vocaloid 6 has a similar thing, but not as extensive. both are actual algorithms that are basically not treated like they're intelligent, just are only used as tools to help render the voices better for people.

idk why anon called Vocaloids synthvs directly as even synthvs are considered Vocaloid as are most voicebank software characters are in general. and the food thing is an aspect of more mid-late 2010s iirc? since thinks like Miku and leeks aren't as connected or used as they used to be.

Vocaloids in general are not ai. although their voicebanks can be used to make really shitty videos by ai because ai does not understand how humans sound nor certain aspects of human voices in general. Vocaloids = good, run by human hands with care (literally were made to be like a digital instrument) . Ai using Voicebanks = shit, rarely is there a human hand than "do this for me", the most monotoned shit you will ever hear.
