Just a little brainstorming for a Urstyle roleplay I’ll never make because I don’t think anyone would want to play an 80 year old woman who thinks her grand son may be possessed by the dead lover that she killed while on her honeymoon.
Based on The Haunting anthology series & it’s original source materials, as well as many of the other adaptions (in particular The Haunting, 1999). The plot of the group would follow Dr. Eleanor Ritter as she invites 5-6 individuals with self proclaimed ‘supernatural’ experiences to take part in a psychological study. The Manor itself is spooky as hell and naturally, it doesn’t take long before things go bump in the night & Ritter’s perception of the Supernatural is put to the test.
Each member would develop their own ghost story and as things unraveled in the mansion it would be up to them to solve the mystery of the Manor, Ritter & their own pasts.
The above images are of (1) the old lady in her youth & her lover (models tbd) and (2) my voice to text description of the group when I thought of it while I was sitting in the parking lot after work. This premise isn’t original, but I do really like the idea of everyone developing a ghost story for themselves & then having them all be at this old, decrepit Manor (that they’re probably only using because the owners needed to make some money and Ritter would pay the big bucks to rent it for the three week trial).
There’d be lots of ghosts lurking in the background (I almost typed bathroom and immediately got P.T. gameplay flashbacks), lots of suspicious characters & of course at least one murderer in the group.
Anyways, maybe I’ll develop it as a tumblr rp and dip my toe into that scene with this. I’m still so intimidated and kind of need to get a grip when it comes to blog formatting before I’d trust myself but I think it could be fun.
