Ahn-Con Jan 10-12, 2014
Well, this was my first time going to Ahn-Con and it was a total blast! There was amazing art, guests, and it wasn't that expensive either. It was the smallest con I have been to, but I kind of liked that. It was a lot more personal and allowed me to get to know the people there. At other cons, I may only see someone once the whole time, if at all, but here, I saw people all three days and we recognized each other and it was all the more better to be sharing that experience with other people. If you thought about going and decided not to, I highly recommend it for those of you who like small cons, yaoi, and don't have a con like this in your area. We also got takeout from a Chinese place with Awesome prices and huge portions. I had to take a lot home with me. The doujinshi and dealers room varieties blew me away.
Anywho, down to business. So, I drove to Missouri from Oklahoma and it was a 6 hour drive. It seems like a hassle, but in fact, the con and the on site hotel was very affordable, witch made it very easy for me to go. I have to say that my favorite thing was meeting hamletmachine. She is the artist of and more well known for Starfighter, but you should check out her other stuff too. She has been a HUGE inspiration for me and was so kind and helpful all the days she was there. I'm sure I wasn't the only fan that just couldn't get over how kind she is! And very soft spoken. I suppose this surprised me sense her work is so diverse and dramatic.
There was a ton of great panels and shows, including Rocky Horror Picture Show. If there was one thing I could say, it was that anyone that can strip and sing, with a corded mic no less, deserves all the props.
Well, to wrap things up (besides the pictures that is) I just have to say that the con was amazing! The artist were AMAZING! And I am surely going to go again next year, hopefully spending less money along the way. I can't wait to see what they have in store!

I've decided to get my butt out of this state a little while and head down to Ahn-Con. I'll have some free goodies for folks, including mini-prints and bookmarks! I'm still not 100% sure how I'll be making myself conspicuous, since that's not normally my MO.
