When your computer has an error
Heh heh heh, I drew him again
my glitchy boi
AIAU - The Beginning
Nightmare staggered, and struggled against the JR guards that dragged him through the blinding golden halls of JR, kicking his legs aggressively and tugging against the chains that constricted him. One of the guards, having had enough of Nightmare's frantic behaviour, kicked him.
Gasping for breath, the impact having knocked the air from his non-existent lungs, he stumbled. They continued to drag him along against his will, uncaring of the probable injury from the harsh kick, until they reached a door with a keypad, and required a nine-digit code to be unlocked. From seemingly nowhere, a small scientist - Nightmare assumed she was a scientist - appeared, and walked past the mass of guards. She tapped at the keypad for a few seconds, before the door opened and Nightmare was shoved through it.
Nightmare whimpered as they dragged him through the sterile white hallways until they reached a room with a complicated looking machine in the centre. The floor had wires running along it left and right that led to what Nightmare presumed was the control panel.
Within less than a minute, he was strapped down, and his eyes darted from left to right in a panic. He couldn’t see any escape. The machine's purpose was made clear when Dream entered the room, allowing himself to also be strapped into a separate part of the machine.
Nightmare violently shook and pulled against the restraints in a futile attempt to break free. “YOU B-BASTARD!” he spat. Dream merely rolled his eyes.
“This is for the better of the multiverse, you knew this was going to happen eventually.” Dream's voice was smooth and in shaken despite their current situation.
Nightmare growled aggressively. “YOU’RE GONNA REGRET THIS, I'LL HAUNT YOUR ASS AND DRAG YOU DOWN TO HELL WITH ME!” Dream remained silent, barely flinching at the outburst.
The room was suddenly filled with the sounds of sparks as the machine was activated. Nightmare screamed as his entire body felt as though it was being sliced into by rusted molten nails and his hair stood on end. He wretched with agony as the sensation grew more and more extreme, now feeling as though he were covered in paper cuts from head to toe that had lemon juice and salt rubbed into them. All the while Dream didn’t make a sound.
Suddenly a flash of light blinded the room along with an ear-piercing screech that sounded from the machine as all the lights in the room burst showering glass over the scientist and shrouding the room in darkness.
Silence. No sparks flew, and Nightmare couldn’t be heard. Just smoke that gradually cleared. Once the smoke had dissipated and the backup lights turned on the scientists all gasped in unison, fear filling the air. Nightmare and Dream were nowhere to be seen...

Nightmare slowly opened his eyes. He groaned as he slowly sat up, confusion setting in as he looked around. Everything looked so—digital. There where bits of coding freely shifting around in the air. Towers in the distance resembling skyscrapers glowing a soft cyan blue and seemingly glitching with coding shifting across them. The sky looked a similar cyan, lines of code upon lines of code upon lines of code giving it a layered effect.
Nightmare rubbed his eyes, unsure of whether this were a dream or if it were real. His eyes shifted to the side as he heard mumbling and groaning coming from beside him. At first he didn’t even recognise the skeleton laying beside him as they glitched slightly and shifted, still unconscious. A few minutes passed by with silence, but soon enough the other began to stir and sat up groggily and rubbing his eyes.
“Wh-what?” Nightmare was stunned for a second. Was that really Dream? It sure sounded like him. The other looked over and stared at Nightmare looking just as perplexed as he was. A small pause, silence broken once more.
“Well... This is... Unexpected, Nightmare is that you?” Nightmare was shocked, if that was Dream did that mean he had undergone a similar change in appearance
“Err... Yeah, what does it look like?” he asked. Dream’s eyes widened.
“This wasn’t supposed to happen, where are we? I can’t be here, they need me,” he said, obviously bothered, and somewhat panicked.
“It's your fault we're here in the first place, you're the one who shoved me into an unpredictable machine that zip zapped us all the way here, wherever the heck this is,” Nightmare said, looking the place over quickly once more. “Truth be told, it looks kinda like the inside of a computer,” he said.
“Oh no, are we?...” Dream was becoming more and more shocked and fearful. He turned his gaze to Nightmare who was now running far away. “NIGHTMARE STOP, WHERE ARE YOU GOING!” but Nightmare was already out of earshot. Dream sighed, he knew this was not going to end well but he was trapped there along with Nightmare and with almost no way of escape.

Just a small error
----------------------------------------
“I said no” Dream said rather sternly, the look of frustration on his face growing ever so slightly as Nightmare spoke up. “But please, just look at how cute he is” Nightmare held the tiny error closer to Dream’s face, the little error’s eyes sparkling as it smiled innocently at Dream. “Nightmare no, just look at what it did to the floor” Dream gestured to a particular spot on the floor which was seemingly disintegrating as it’s coding had been corrupted, leaving a rather large hole.
“So? We can patch it up later” Nightmare’s grasp on the error had tightened slightly as he grew more and more protective over it. “Don’t you remember what happened the last time we let an error wander freely around our house?” Dream grimaced just thinking about it. “Yeah, I left it to itself, it grew bigger and our house fell apart” Nightmare replied showing little care and cuddling the error as it let out a small squeak.
“Exactly, that's why it cannot be trusted so get rid of it” Nightmare narrowed his eyes shifting away from Dream “ heck no” he mumbled as he nuzzled the error protectively. Dream’s patience was wearing thin, having had enough of the constant arguing over the little error that had randomly occurred and somehow found its way to Nightmare.
Nightmare’s eyes widened as a troubleshoot window was opened. He leaped up in an attempt to pull Dream’s arm away but was shoved away with immense force as Dream pressed the troubleshoot button. The tiny error was gone within seconds, Nightmare merely scowled at Dream. “You freaking asshole” He spat venomously as he got to his feet quickly and stormed out the door, leaving Dream alone in the now silent cyber house.
Dream rolled his eyes. He sighed sitting down on the sofa for a moment “He’ll be back later with another one of those things, I just know it” He mumbled as he shut his eyes, briefly wondering whether he’d ever be able to break free of this digital prison and pick up where he left off in Justice Reigns. Until then, he would have to deal with Nightmare bringing home those destructive errors and insisting that they keep them.
