Poet Wendy Xu has composed a very clear, succinct, and penetrating explanation of what is wrong with so-called artificial intelligence. She contrasts the anti-reality, anti-growth effects of what my son calls the yes machine with two works about (among other things) the limits of imaginary escapes: Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson and The Boy and the Heron by Hayao Miyazaki.
