Y'all I totally forgot to mention this happened at work: for context, my coworker at work and his wife are getting licensed as facilitators for legal mushroom use, and this is a convo that started the other day:
Him: check this out, I had Gemini make a logo for my business (he holds his phone out to me, showing an obviously AI image of like, some brains that are also some mushrooms, all spacey and psychedelic and such)(and also BY THE WAY it wasnt a logo, it was just an image, a logo is a simplified image used to promote your business thats instantly recognizable, FOR ADVERTISING)
Me: (looking him dead in the face)
Me: Seriously?? Pay an ARTIST.
Him: I just did it though!
Me: PAY AN ARTIST!!
Him: Why would I, I can just do it myself! It doesnt cost me anything!
Me: This attitude is why artists are fucking struggling right now!
Him: well no one's gonna do it for free...
Me: NO! And they shouldn't!!
Me: DUDE, You are LITERALLY talking to an artist!
Him: K, well would you design me a logo for 5 bucks?
Me: ABSOLUTELY NOT
