First Meeting ;;

The little flower shop on the corner of a less than busy street was the home to a middle-aged woman. She owned the shop as well as the flat above it and had run the shop for many years. At first it was just the woman who worked the place, but soon enough a small girl was running around the shop, helping her where and when she could. Some of the regulars knew the young girl, Joohyun. Some didn’t. School of course always came first. Now that Joohyun was older she spent more time in the shop helping her aunt, and more of the regular customers were getting to know her. Some, but not all.

While away at class, Joohyun’s aunt ran the shop same as always. One of her longtime regulars who always came during the day when Joohyun wasn’t around stood at the small counter with a small pot of violets ready to be purchased. “It’s amazing that you’ve run this shop for so many years on your own. I would’ve thought you would hire someone to help by now.” 

The elder woman smiled at her customer, waving them off a bit. “Ah, my niece has worked here with me for many years. She lives with me upstairs. She’s a very special girl, a little odd. Without her help though I wouldn’t be running the shop anymore. Next time you’re stopping by come in the afternoon and you might get the chance to meet her. Have a good day!” And with that the customer left, leaving none but a young man left in the shop to whom the elder woman smiled before turning to her newspaper, sipping at her morning tea, enjoying the quiet.
