01. What does your character’s name mean? Did you pick it for the symbolism, or did you just like the way it sounded?
For Aiami Lin I think it was purely liking the way it sounded. No real story there, unfortunately.
For Wyra Lennora, I remember Wyra comes from the Inheritance series word ‘Wyrda.’ I just took the ‘d’ out. Not any reason for it, I just like how it sounds. For Lennora, I remember finding the name meant ‘honor,’ according to a few definitions, so I took that as his surname.
11. What is something that would make your character fly into a rage?
Wyra’s fairly level headed, but the best way to make him forget all reason is to bring the Scarlet Crusade into the discussion. He can’t abide them. A bit of projection, as he used to be an Inquisitor, and hates himself for it almost as much as he hates them.
Similarly, Aiami’s a mainland pandaren, so it’s hard to illicit strong negative emotions from her. I think the closest it would come would be from a lack of understanding. I could see her getting very frustrated with Doomsayers calling for everyone to surrender to the Legion.
30. When it comes to the arts (music, film, theater, etc), what does your character like?
Aiami likes music. The easiest way for her to unwind and find a moment of peace is to visit the closest tavern, get a beer, and relax while listening to the bar music. Whether that’s a bard, a single performer or a full-on band. She actually carries a little bamboo flute she continually attempts to learn how to play.
Wyra grew up visiting the theater, whenever the orphanage kids were taken to one, so he still takes the time to see one, when he can. Painting also interests him, and he’s seen quite a few stunning pictures. It’s something he may take up when he eventually is forced to settle down.
33. If your character wanted to be alone, where would they go?
Wyra would visit a chapel, or some kind of makeshift place of worship, if at all possible. He’s a very devout man, and when he seeks solace, often times that usually means seeking the Light, as well.
Aiami would likely just head off into the wilderness. It’s not as though she can’t take care of herself, after all. She would find a nice place, quiet, somehow serene, before she found a nice spot to sit and meditate at.
