“ I don't think I'll ever truly understand why you insist on using me as a pillow, ” he murmured, running his fingers gently, carefully, through the other male's hair. Night had fallen hours ago, and on the beaches just north of the Reservation, where he wasn't allowed to go, there was so little light pollution, it was almost possible to pretend that no time at all had passed from the first time they had lain like this, watching the stars. The heat of Aiden's skin seemed to warm him from the outside in, and feeling the other's heartbeat pressed against his ribs...it was almost as though his own heart beat once more. “ I can hardly be comfortable, ” he continued, voice little more than a low rumble. “ cold and unyielding... ” He could have attempted to use his ability to rectify the situation, yes, but in truth...there was a part of him that appreciated the fact that his friend -- perhaps his only true friend -- accepted and appreciated him just the way he was. Perhaps that was part of the reason that the younger of the pair continued to lay on him, despite the fact that the sand would likely have been a more comfortable option. “ you're a fool. I hope you realize as much. ” ---- @aiden-lycan
