honestly thats fucking bs on their end. i’d like to think christianity isnt like that tbh. but for some people being away from church or religion in general is much better for their mental health. i always liked saying “the religion was probably a good and wholesome one and then humans fuckin ruined it with their own shitty perception”

I think there’s some merit in seeking a personal relationship with God if one believes in Him and desires that, but on a wider level it seems like such a mess
