♝:Reading a book together

She had walked into the library after he had already sat down, and he of course motioned for her to join him on the couch. He wasn’t sure exactly what had gotten in to her, but her usually bright personality seemed subdued that day. Looking between the book and his cousin, Neji reached an arm out and tentatively wrapped it around Hinata. He wasn’t sure how to ask her if everything was all right, or if he even should. But at the very least he could hope to take her mind off of whatever was going on. 

So he started to read to her. It was a historical account of a great shinobi from long before their time and maybe not the most entertaining read, but hopefully it was enough information to take her mind off of things. 

As he continued to read Neji pulled Hinata a little closer, hoping it might urge her to relax a little bit more. He could admit, it was rather nice to have the warm feel of her next to him as he read. He has faint memories of asking his father when he was a child if Hinata-sama would ever want to read with him. That never happened since he was only a branch member

❛ ano .  . is it really okay, nii-san ? ❜ the male would then give the     affirmative nod, signaling a simple ‘ yes ‘ without any actual words     needed. the usual blank expression he carried around was further     proof that he didn’t mind in the slightest about lending her the proper     piece of fabric for this chilly weather they were experiencing.

    SHE SMILED —– a faint one that expressed gratitude towards his     actions. even though it would be deemed unnecessary, she’ll give him     the PROPER thanks later on upon returning to their clan’s home over a     cup of hot tea && blueberry scones.

               His head nods in immediate affirmative at her question, unwilling to accept                her not saying yes to his offer. The wind is chilly and he worries about her,                as he always does. Once the fabric is draped carefully over her shoulders does                he feel far better about her being out in this weather.                  “ You should be more mindful of the weather Hinata-sama. It won’t do any good                 if you caught a cold.” His hand gently touched between her shoulders before his                 hand fell away to hang besides him. “But it seems winter came early.”
