Travis was at Lowry’s because he had finally decided to fix up his house. He wanted to paint his walls a different color. Aileen had designed their house and since they had divorced, the house reminded him of her. And the reason why she left. He made his way to the paint aisle when his eyes set on the woman. At first all he saw was the back of her head, but he knew it was her. He wanted to leave before she saw him, but she was too quick. “Hi,” He whispered, looking down. “I..uh...” He couldn’t find his words. “I’ll leave.”

At first, Travis had settled on celibacy. It seemed like the best thing to do. It was sleeping with someone that did end his marriage, and of course his many failed hookups following the divorce. But with news of the singles mixer, and failed basket bidding, he thought, Why Not? Who could it hurt that he was here, mingling among people. Well, after a few drinks, a lot could hurt. Somewhere between a few beers and some whiskey, he was determined on getting Aileen back. It killed him to imagine what they had was gone for good. There had to be a way to get her back. He saw Aileen walk in, just as beautiful as she was on their wedding day. Earlier in the night he had acquired some roses, making somewhat of a homemade bouquet. Life was strange. Out of all the ways Travis thought he would reconnect with his ex-wife, a singles mixer was not one of them, but then again he would take anything. He promised her then that he would take her out, on a real date, just like before. The way he was courting her was similar to when they first started dating, but now with a tenacity like never before.
