Just over a week ago, I had the pleasure of leading a couple of sessions at #AIMEmentoring. As AIME begins to operate internationally, including Uganda and South Africa, Victoria is the only AIME branch that brings together First Nations and African youth. It was awesome to introduce them to the “tisvikeiwo”, REQUEST To Enter Country and explain that my people still have this protocol in place as Everyday practice but a mandatory way to show respect and love to the Elders of any land where we wish to enter, speak, tell story and generally vibe and that this request means we know our position within their society/country - as guests and visitors of the original language groups. On the second day, I met this wonderful human, an Art Therapist and fellow Zimbabwean, @chenaimupotsa. Shout out @soulsista_says for inviting us to come through and for the gift of these amazing hoodies!! I’m loving the Whale pod energy via coastal NSW, here’s more info on the story of this hoodie design 👉🏾 https://shop.aimementoring.com/collections/hoodies/products/2017-hd-hoodie https://www.instagram.com/p/B1nIrHJA_2M/?igshid=3men20r8krwr
