“... If I were to die tonight, will you remember me?”

Not the type of stuff Aimer says. Not the usual, when they're both up in the rare time they share a bed due to work.

He doesn't turn to look at Mys, he's just looking towards the window that showed off the clear night sky full of stars, and a beautiful moon.

“... I don't think I would want you to. I wouldn't be at peace if I ever were to hold you down.” He spoke softly, although he could be heard perfectly. “And it would be an honour to be remembered by you, love, I just... I don't ever want to see you sad because of me.”

Finally, Aimer turns his head to Mystic, a soft, sad smile on his face.

“So promise me that you'll move on. Promise me that, if — and only if — I were no longer here in this world, you'll find someone worthy of you... Because you were never born to be tied down to someone.”

Mystic sat up in silence, listening with a blank expression. He couldn't believe his ears. Aimer was never the type to go on about hypothetical events of the future. Especially if they referred to his demise.

But was it really hypothetical? The way that he spoke... it was as though he was begging Mystic, because he knew it would happen eventually.

Weren't they both immortal creatures? Weren't they supposed to spend the rest of eternity together?

His rushing thoughts gushed right through his eyes, dripping down along his chin in crystalline tears. "Why—" he whispered, unable to raise his voice through the knot on his throat. "Why are you talking about this?"

Mystic quickly brought his sleeves up to scrub the continuously pouring tears from his face. "You say I was never born to be tied down to someone... but I don't want anyone else. I chose you." He huffed. "I can't... promise what you're asking."

“Just trust me on this one, Mys. You'll like it!”

Aimer chuckled as he gently pulled his fiance's hand, guiding him on where to go since he covered Mystic's eyes with a dark handkerchief. The aroma of the place was nice, moist, like it has just rained just a few moments ago, and there was no sign of any sort of sound from the city, as far as Mystic is aware. There were just crickets, and a few rustle from the trees. It was... a bit too peaceful and quiet.

“Alright, we're here. Are you ready?”

“What’re you going on about, cher?” Mystic chuckled giddily, allowing himself be dragged.

Despite having his eyes covered, his danger senses were never triggered. It didn’t matter where Aimer took him, as long as he held his hand, Mystic would go along without question.

This time, however, Aimer was strangely antsy, and it made Mystic wonder just what he could be planning.

As they came to a stop, Mystic stood, waiting. There was silence, so his hearing wouldn’t be of any help. As for smells, perhaps it was that Aimer was standing so close to him, but he could only pick up on the second-born’s scent. At that moment, he was quite literally clueless.

The Founder smiled, unsure of what to expect. “Sure. I’m ready.”

Mystic ends up breaking and snaps at Aimer about his feelings, setting the latter into a semi-panic attack and making him a blabbering mess, unsure of what to say as he tries to process what just came out of Mystic’s mouth.

Rustic (am I down bad? Yes, indeed I am—) @/ruki--mukami

Ruki is not exactly subtle about it and goes straight for it, which gives Mystic barely any time to even process what the hell just happened here. He gets up without saying a word and tries to walk away for a moment before Ruki chases behind (rightfully confused), which Mystic reacts by shutting himself in a room and beg that they speak through the door because he thinks he might be going crazy. (He’s quite literally about to have a breakdown.) Let it be known that Mystic never once though they were a couple whatsoever before this came to light.

A mutual understanding (sort of). Sparks after the first kiss they share that doesn’t follow anything explicit as it usually does. Tender physical contact, rare for both, but clearly works for them.
