7 years is a long time to be a band. And with 7 years of experience and countless shows under their belt Aimless Again has built a sweet underground following. I can't say too much about Long Island's punk scene because I've only been to a few shows of that kind over the years, however I can speak on behalf of Aimless Again. They are some great and reliable dudes who love doing what they do which is always deserving of respect. Also in 7 years the band has only underwent minimal line up changes. Sorting through close friends and a re-return of their original drummer.
Being good friends of mine, I have been lucky enough to of had these guys play my past two birthday shows. The vocalist Jake Ferring has a one of a kind voice, seemingly born to sing melodic punk vocals. Seeing them live I couldn't properly compare them to any other band even within their respective genre. Upon listening to their recordings though I definitely felt a sound reminiscent of nostalgic Green Day and Blink 182 at both bands' prime days. There's a nice assortment of guest vocals or backing vocals as well as multiple changes of pace on both records going from catchy melodies, to fast paced punk and back to acoustic songs some serious some not. Strong and relevant lyrics will be guaranteed to get stuck in your head.
The best thing about Aimless Again is how dedicated they are to keeping the Punk scene on Long Island strong. They're almost always playing shows. Hopefully these guys will obtain a nice out of state following and tour soon. Listen and download their jams below!

I really don't understand why people put "family" above everything else. Don't get me wrong, I love my mom, dad, and little brother to death. But it bothers me when my parents and grandparents pretty much say "All your friends aren't going to help you when you're down and only your family will". Well lets see, my alcoholic, drug abusing twin brother beat the shit out of my dad, who has a bad leg from suffering from cancer and is out of shape, all because he tried to stop him from drunk driving once. The State of New York ordered him to not be allowed near me and my family for MONTHS because of this. But no, I'm supposed to still 'love' him because "he's my family". I think family is more than just people who share common relatives, and that's what angers me when my grandparents are telling me to let it go and forget about what happened with my brother. He hasn't really changed at all, he's always been an asshole to people regardless. If he wasn't my brother I honestly would never talk to him, even my own mother agreed with that. But he's "family" so I'm supposed to give him the benefit of the doubt. I think that's bullshit. You know who's my family? Jake Ferring, Anthony DeNapoli, and Brett Woods. They're the people that I go to when I need to be happy. They're the people that despite fighting with at different points over the years I would go to them in a heartbeat when I need to be happy. I honestly just want them to be happy and will do everything I can to make them successful in life. Because when I was cutting myself daily it was Jake who would tell me to stop and say that everything could be better. When I was having issues with school it was Anthony who would say fuck it and get stoned with me and just have fun. And despite all the issues I've had with him Brett will continue to share interests with me and always have something to talk about with him. They are my family. Their is only one other person I would classify as family, but she's not my friend anymore. But hopefully she's happy. Because that's all that matters. Is that she's happy.
Check out my friends' band. Their new album "The North Shore Demo" came out this past Friday. Download it. You can download it for free or you can pay however much you want to support them. But really check it out. It's really good. Spread this around, they would really appreciate it.
Song of the Day #192
Aimless Again: Pulse!
You've probably never heard of this band (at least I'm assuming), but you should. They're seriously underrated, and show a lot of potential at being great. They have a pop punk, early-Blink 182 sound that I'm sure a bunch of you will enjoy. Hell, you can even get the whole fucking album for free on bandcamp. So you can check it all out, and if you don't like it, you wouldn't have spent anything on it. So really, you might as well give it a go. I, personally, love the whole album.

Album You Should Go Out and Buy #4
Aimless Again: Bill!
The best part about this album is you don't even have to buy it! You can go and download it for free at their official website:

Anyway, these guys are probably one of the most underrated bands I've ever come across. They are the epitome of pop punk. Everything is catchy, but rocks at the same time. Yet they also bring out a special uniqueness that can really shine through within a couple of years with more experience and maturity (they aren't really that old). So, yes, I very much recommend you download the album. It's free, for cryin' out loud! You might as well give it a chance!
Download it and feel free to like them on Facebook or whatever. I'm sure they'd appreciate the feedback :)
The song in the video, btw, is "Melodramatic". It sounds like it has bad quality at first, but it gets better ;)
