MH Generations Ultimate
After yesterdays announcement I see people saying “Finally the true Monster Hunter game comes to the west”. Well first of all, sincere congrats to everyone who was waiting for a Switch release and didn’t buy into the World hype and got a ps4 just for that. Now for the rest. Even though World was a lackluster release with many classic monsters missing from the roster and weapon designs that didn’t come even close to those of previous installations of the franchise, saying that it wasn’t a true Monster Hunter game is bs. The team behind it tried something new and it worked, with integrated mechanics from all the previous games and improved quality of life systems for the hub area. It was a more westernized version but what is the problem with that? Each game up to generations, which brought them all together, had it’s own aesthetic and vibe with Tri missing even more of the “classic pallet” many people were complaining was absent from World. Even though classic monsters were missing we got way more unique fights than what we had in the 6 new (not even new most of them were changed from pre-existing monsters) monsters of Generations. I just don’t see the point in comparing these two games in such a way. Both were made by different teams, both were a shot at something different for Capcom and both are fine next gen Monster Hunter installations with their pros and cons. Get over your bitterness and enjoy the fact that we are at a point in time where we can have Monster Hunter in every major console there is out there and soon on PC.
