Week 7: Day 32
Last day at A.I!
It has been a pleasure meeting all these lovely and hardworking people, attending and taking part in their events, and sharing moments— A.I moments!
Thank you !
PS: And I will continue this blog! But I hope you all will check out my visual blog to at http://zohosquare.tumblr.com
Week 7: Day 31
Marques Almeida AW14
The Last day of London Fashion Week
A packed full itinerary at the Tate Modern today have consummately justified that London Fashion week does not end quietly: First off today was the long anticipated Marques Almeida AW14 womens show, followed by Simone Rocha, Meadham Kirchhoff and numerous emerging talents from Fashion East — from the sound of it, the day shan’t be short nor dreary.
The call time for A.I staffs was at 7am, making sure we all have up until 9am (show’s start time) to get to our positions. Much like the J.W.Anderson Mens’ show, I was assigned to the backstage entrance with the backstage press list and a walkie talkie radio. Although there were less photographers turning up, it did not affect the busy atmosphere. At the backstage, models were casually bonding whilst getting their hair and makeup tended — an efficient yet not stressful backstage, mainly because it was lead by the friendly Marques Almeida duo (who were also very in love).
It was a shame that I never really get to look at the clothes in detail, as I was working in the Tate staff entrance, guarding the backstage.
Week 7: Day 30
I had unfortunately fallen ill last Friday, resulting to my inability to help out on the J.W.Anderson AW15 women’s show on Saturday, as I wasn’t able to attend the briefing on Friday. Again, you may start to ponder how I’ve been literally sick almost every week, ( especially on Thursdays/Fridays)… It seems like I become less immune towards the weekends, or you may say, I gradually succumbed to fatigue and viruses around me, as the week proceeds.
In order to make up for my absence, I knew I had to at my best for the Marques Almeida show on Tuesday.
Week 6: Day 29
J.W.Anderson x Sunspel Store Presentation
The long anticipated collaboration have finally landed in our Shoreditch Sunspel Women's store! In order to celebrate the "marriage" of both our biggest clients, tonight at the Sunspel Womens' store, they have hosted a "party" -- with DJs, celebrities guests, and champagne all gathered in this cozy yet impeccably stylish store, it was "quite a night".
Week 6: Day 28 Apocalyptic Wednesday Mid week, and it is the usual turn of events when it is as busy as a bee's nest in the office. Daniel was sent out to deliver invitations until noon, and there, I found myself tending all the intern chores alone -- usually it's not so as manic, but with the coincidence of Kathryn , Lilli and Georgie out, and Adam, Naomi, Ollie and Kerry in a mandatory meeting, I was literally all over the place. In the process of docketing an intense request (going by PR in Motion- which picks up around 13:45pm), I was also obliged to individual (urgent) send outs assigned by Kerry and Ollie. The time was 12:10, and knowing that I am the only person in the showroom, I also had to answer the doors, bring bags of samples to the couriers etc.. Time management was pivotal, but I only have a pair of hands. Thankfully Daniel came back around 13:05, and help split my workload. Some tasks may be impossible for one person, but with a team, nothing is impossible!
Week 6, Day 27
Are you invited yet?
The long awaited invitation writing commenced and completed today — with the extra help of Olivia, who’s on her intern work trial, the all Marques Almeida show invites were done. (Apart from the few odd ones which haven’t have their addresses provided yet)
I managed to contribute in the invite writing before lunch, completing the Buyers, and half of the UK magazines, stylists and bloggers list. Once sent out, these invitations are on behalves of Marques Almeida and A.I, therefore, from the writings to packaging, it has to be as immaculate as possible. At first everybody was rather nervous due to the pressure for neat handwritings, but after we have written a handful, we were all ensconced to the copious task.
Despite the pressure, and the repetitive tasks (much resembling the chores at a factory), was actually quite fun and strangely "satisfying' - as stated by Kerry.
