Beating AIR iOS fullscreen mode with a stick
I was trying to get my iOS app to display with the status bar shown to allow the user to see their network coverage and network activity indicator. However when i set <fullscreen>false</fullscreen> in the AIR app.xml there was a screen-resize flicker when switching from the initial Default.png to my apps initial state - which was meant to match Default.png.
Adobe docs seems to be getting more and more obtuse, and after no luck googling i tried to figure it out myself.
So after much banging of head i found that my Default.png had to be 320x480 (iPhone 3GS here folks) while my app ran with a display of 320x460. After this i was able to have my app's initial display perfect match the Default.png and then i proceeded to have a dissolve through to my first screen.
Swanky.
Oh, and AIR 2.7 still doesn't seem to make use of status bar network activity indicator which was my whole reason for attempting this in the first place. Sigh, just another feature request to make.
