Important facts about wire rope
Wire rope measurement should always be measured at the widest point which represents the true diameter.
Store your wire rope in a cool dry place, preferably inside and away from heat or moisture.
Be extra careful not to create loops in your wire rope when unreeling, this can cause permanent damage to the rope.
Wire rope has elastic properties. It can stretch under load.
If combining wire ropes for a single application make sure each rope has the same lay pattern.
When rereeling wire rope it should be looped from the top of one drum to the top of the other.
Always wear safety goggle and work gloves when cutting wire rope.
Break in your wire rope by running it through its cycle at low speeds and gradually increasing. Watch to make sure it functions properly.
