Where should I go in Australia with my Aussie AirPass?
Question by J Ray Tram: Where should I go in Australia with my Aussie AirPass?
I’m planning on using the Aussie AirPass deal with Qantas: round trip airfare from Los Angeles to Australia, plus three flights within Australia, all over 21 days (so overall you can visit four different places in Australia). I know I would like Sydney to be one of the four destinations, but I’m not sure what I should use for the other three. I’m a college-age male, who will be going with my mom who is in her fifties. I have no international travel experience other than going to Canada. Some options that we have discussed for the other three destinations are melbourne, perth, uluru (ayers rock), darwin, and cairns, among others. We’d like to get a full taste of australia, preferably including the great barrier reef (it seems like there are many airports to choose from for this). The trip will be in August 2008 (hopefully Qantas will have the a380 by then!). What would you reccomend?

Yeah go to sydney, your mum will like melbourne, lots of shopping, you have to go to queensland, its the ultimate beach place, + lots of ‘hot chicks’ and then.. umm.. northern territory, you see alot of aboriginal stuff there.
but yeah, they’re good places.
you can drive to most places from the capital city (queensland you can drive from great barrier reef to cairns, syndey to uluru, etc)
