i am very negligent in posting things sometimes

this is my redesign for hyperlaser's gun. don't get me started on how hideous the actual one is. literally. how is that a gun and how is he holding it. why does he hold it like that. why is it shaped like that. where is the cohesion in the design.

anyway.

i modeled this off an LMG because it's a nice blocky rectangular shape and the addition of the foregrip sells the feeling that this is a powerful weapon that requires stability. hyper stuck a strap on it so he can hold it on his back and swing it around to his front

i debated whether i wanted him to hold it against his shoulder or on top of it like a rocket launcher. i think both could work but in the end i just went with the first one cuz its more efficient for him

here's some flavor text i wrote for it

Hyperlaser’s Gear is a large and heavy slate-colored railgun that exchanges fire rate for immense damage. It is activated via a small switch on its left side, akin to a safety on a standard gun, which upon triggering causes its blue lights to start glowing. It’s modified to have a strap which lets him carry it on his back and swing it to his front should he need to engage quickly. If it is separated from him far enough, it will shut down and refuse to operate until he’s within range again.

The railgun can only fire 3 lasers at a time before “reloading”, where Hyperlaser pulls a bolt handle on the right side, triggering a rapid cooling process to quell overheating. Without pulling the handle, the gun cannot physically shoot more lasers and locks up. It takes several minutes for the gun to cool on its own this way.

The black piece on top of the gun is his scope, however it’s been rendered obsolete due to his injuries. With some slight adjustments, the scope now syncs to his helmet’s visor and he can view it with a button push on the Gear. When using his Crescendo (AU lingo for ult), the gun overclocks itself and requires a lot of his energy to generate the sheer destruction it’s capable of.

While the Gear is heavy to Hyperlaser and he struggles with back and shoulder pains sometimes, to other Inphernals the weight seems several times heavier than what he experiences. Even lifting it to a firing position is extremely difficult to everyone else but him.

ummmm i know theres a lot of mistakes, trust me ive spent like 2 days trying to fix it all and in the end i just gave up

bonus no helmet version ⇩ hate my design for him but im not gonna do anything about it
