21 Savage Unveils a Jubilant Black Aristocracy in “a lot”🥂

The Aisultan-directed music video for 21 Savage’s “a lot” opens with a panning view of jovial and prosperous African-Americans enjoying a black-tie event in a remote mansion that overlooks lush greenery and placid waters. Well-dressed children joyfully sprint through the enormous residence before the scene transitions, showing the refined group of blacks posing in front of a vintage camera as Savage - encased in a solemn ensemble - raps “a lot”s chorus. In this world, the viewer is introduced to the African-American upper-class, a dubious concept and ludicrous fantasy to mainstream society; in this world, blacks are free from tragic depictions and common stereotypes. Happiness, prosperity, and blackness all coexist here. 

Class proceeds to be the center in the following frames, in which the black family is gathered around a dining table concealed under plates of lavish dishes. There are gilded champagne bottles, mounted desserts, crisp entrées, and vibrant vegetables. The seated ladies and gentlemen laugh, smile, and engage in exuberant exchange while clothed in satin fabrics and sharp suits. All of this under the soft glow of lamp lights, which somehow radiate their own sumptuousness. 

The camera then lingers on the characters, bringing into focus not only their brown faces but also dark contrasts in lifestyles: a besuited man becomes a kneeled victim awaiting the fatal blast of a menacingly raised gun, a woman filling her plate with scrumptious cuisine transforms into a bagger for cocaine, a grinning old man turns into a pitiful patient whose frown is hidden behind an oxygen mask, and more. Gloomy juxtapositions are not dwelled on, however, because the next scene shows the same African-Americans returning to exaltation and celebration. 

J. Cole, suited and dreadlocked, appears alongside a child that peers into the camera. Accompanied by the magnificent chandeliers and pompous pillars of the mansion, he watches the euphoric persons from his elevated position upstairs. He raps and gestures in two more locations throughout the brief cameo - from a stair-side seat next to a mimicking and mumbling Savage to a spot in the middle of the black crowd - then finishes the appearance with a musical declaration that is complimented with a confident smile and emphatic finger-pointing.

At the dining table - which is now peopleless and empty-plated - Savage presents a verse not included on the original “a lot” record and reflects on a harsh upbringing, fake affection, and monogamy while referencing the immigration border and Flint water crises as well as lawyerless innocents in prison. 

The video nears its conclusion and exhibits characters lip-syncing the word “a lot” before they are seen dancing and expressing their elation. Once again, the dining table is shown, and a black-and-white picture of the content black people (Savage included) taken from earlier in the video lays on the shining mahogany. It is evident that this African-American tale does not end in despair. Despite flashes of grim circumstances throughout the music video, the black people still have a happy beginning and a happy ending. In other depictions, pain would erase our joy, but in the Aisultan production, joy erases our pain. We are allowed to exult, not to agonize.

Queen wedding in Kazakhstan

What will happen in Kazakhstan at the end of the August? The grandson of the president of the Republic of Kazakhstan is going to be married.

Nursultan Nazarbaev’s grandson has chosen the girl of his life. The bride is a student at the University of Art in London (Courtauld Institute of Art), she is 20 years old, and her name is Alima Boranbaeva. Her father is  CEO of the Kazakhstan – Russian joint-venture “KazRosGas” – Kayrat Boranbayev.

The family celebration will be in Grand Ballroom of the Royal Tullip hotel which is located at Zailiskiy Alatay, Almaty city. Relatives and close friends to the Nazarbaev’s family will be in the wedding performance. But undoubtedly, the most important visitor of the wedding will be Nursulta Nazarbaev.

Aisultan Nazarbaev is 23 years old, he has graduated British military academy Sandkherst. Recently, he got the rank of senior lieutenant. And he is on the staff of the Military Investigation division of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan.
