Hey if I remember well you're from the Netherlands? I am too and I don't know if you already posted about this but have you heard about the sleepwet? It's really concerning to me regarding to privacy violations. We're trying to get a referendum on this thing (sleepwet . n l). Maybe some other dutch followers of yours want to sign this. We're on 180.000 and need to get 300.000 by the 16th. I would appreciate if you would post this!

Go sign it Dutch people! The Sleepwet is a law giving the AIVD (Dutch CIA equivalent) much broader powers. They will be allowed to snoop on any and all electronic communications, even of people who aren’t suspects. They will be allowed to hack any and all devices, such as your phone, computer or smart-TV. They will be allowed to start a secret DNA database to which anyone can be added. Any data they collect may now be shared with foreign agencies, without analysing that data to see if it’s actually useful for any security reason. It’s super creepy, and should be stopped.

NOS laat hier allemaal ‘complottheorieën’ de revue passeren: ‘Foei! Dat mag niet van de AIVD!’

Nord Stream-aanslag krijgt steeds hoger James Bond-gehalte, kopte de NOS afgelopen maand op zijn website. De NOS gaat in het bewuste artikel een aantal ‘complottheorieën’ langs, waaronder de mogelijkheid dat de aanslag op Nord Stream een zogeheten ‘false flag’-operatie is.

Het James Bond-gehalte wordt versterkt doordat we niet weten wie er achter de gestalte van James Bond schuilgaat, citeert Nieuwsuur onderzoeker inlichtingendiensten Ben de Jong.

Kan niet worden uitgesloten

“Het verhaal heeft in theorie belangrijke politieke consequenties. Als er echt een connectie is met de Oekraïense regering, hebben Zelenski zelf en z’n regering, maar ook de westerse alliantie die achter Oekraïne staat, een ernstig probleem,” zegt De Jong.

Nieuwsuur citeert ook nog een andere journalist: Georg Heil van de ARD. Die zegt dat niet kan worden uitgesloten dat het gaat om een actie van een andere partij, bedoeld om Oekraïne de schuld in de schoenen te schuiven.

Dat ‘ondermijnt’ het vertrouwen

We moeten rekening houden met alle scenario’s. Al is een false flag-operatie niet de meest waarschijnlijke, denkt Heil.

Tweede Kamerlid Pepijn van Houwelingen (FVD) zag het artikel voorbij komen en schrijft: “Jeetje, de NOS laat hier allemaal ‘complottheorieën’ de revue passeren inclusief de optie dat de aanslag op Nord Stream is verricht onder een ‘false flag’. ‘Kwaadaardige intenties’! Foei, NOS! Dat ‘ondermijnt’ het vertrouwen en dat mag niet van de AIVD!”

The Dutch security service AIVD is using controversial hacking software developed by Israeli company NSO Group, the Volkskrant reported on Thursday, quoting four confidential sources.

The paper said the claims are the first tangible link between the Netherlands and NSO Group, a commercial company which produces the Pegasus phone hacking software. The software was used in the investigation into gangland boss Ridouan Taghi, the sources said.

Pegasus is used by governments worldwide to monitor opposition leaders, activists and journalists, according to research by Canadian group CitizenLab.

The Volkskrant said the AIVD used the software to hack Taghi’s phone following the murder of lawyer Derk Wiersum, after the agency was brought in by the then justice minister Ferd Grapperhaus. Taghi was arrested three months after the murder in Dubai.

Neither the AIVD or NSO Group would comment on the claims, the paper said.

The war in Ukraine is pushing contradictions in the Netherlands further apart, according to the general intelligence service AIVD. "We see that the war in Ukraine is becoming part of the narrative of right-wing extremists and anti-government extremists," AIVD director Erik Akerboom said to NOS. Putin's rhetoric is finding its way to the Netherlands and fitting into radical groups' existing ideas, he said.

In its annual report for 2021, the AIVD raised concerns about the increased threat of violence by right-wing extremist groups, which are gaining support in the Netherlands, NOS and NU.nl report. While many members outwardly advocate nonviolence, they consider violence a real option within their groups, the AIVD said. "That makes an attack by right-wing terrorist loners or groups imaginable."

According to the intelligence and security service, right-wing extremists share a belief that "the white population of the Netherlands is structurally disadvantaged, and its survival is even threatened by 'repopulation' or genocide." Among right-wing extremists, there is a movement called "accelerationism," whose supporters think that a race war is coming and want to hasten it by carrying out attacks.
