Latvenergo buys sun park under construction in Latvia

Latvian energy company Latvenergo has acquired from a Danish company a solar park project in Aizpute, which, if finished, would have a capac

As a result, a solar power plant with a total capacity of 265 MWp (megawatts direct current) is planned to be built in Aizpute by the end of 2025. 

The solar park site is located in the rural area of Cīrava, in the South Kurzeme region. The project involves the construction of a 330 kV substation "Cīrava" with a connection to the 330 kV high-voltage line of the Latvian national grid(..)

"The project, which is equivalent in installed capacity to the Ķegums HPP, will balance the supply of electricity to our customers during the warm season, when we have so far been in a deficit situation and where demand for energy is increasing," said Mārtiņš Čakste, Chairman of the Board of Latvenergo(..)

Trip to Aizpute

October 10 - a day that was dedicated to the beautiful autumn destination - Aizpute. On the way to the city, students visited Volzbahs hill and Lielbata source. In the city some time was spent enjoying city vibes and later day was concluded with a glass of vine in Aizpute vinery.

Some student feedback about the excursion:

“I liked it because I had a chance to make new friendships. I had more fun than I expected at the winery by the owner’s ideas ✌🏻, it was a nice time-oriented activity, so thumbs up 👍🏻”;

“I really liked the natural places and see how Latvia looks like in autumn”;
