so my friend @wabe3 did a cute drawing of their ideas of a modern AU of some of the Arcane characters and I was very inspired to do my own idea of modern Jinx. I'll explain my thought process below but here the image and a timelapse

My thought process below the cut if your interested

the reference image that flashes in is to keep proportions in mind, I try not to trace overtly for my own artistic benefit. it's a technique i use where i sketch my figure next to the reference then overlay the sketch over the reference to check for any obvious mistakes then I usually keep the reference there so I can check back in on how grounded I'm staying anatomically

as usual I didn't start recording the timelapse till like half an hour in bc i just started sketching thinking i wouldnt be bothered to finish it but then ended up liking it

So obviously the fit is very dramatic and wouldn't be her every day low effort outfit but as an alt person myself who loves jinx I got super excited to design a full "get up" for her.

I really wanted to stay true to her cannon colour palette and weird vibes and DIY spirit while still making the elements feel a bit more modern and reminiscent of modern-day alternative wear. Mainly in her shirt, I changed it to something that you are a little more likely to see but still feels true to her. Even though I knew I wanted to put her in some shorts, Jinx is never one to bear her legs to often, so I decided giving her the kind of DIY legwarmers deal would be awesome.

By fare my fave detail is her embroidered leg warmer, I just wanted to bring some elements of her graffiti and iconic colours in and this felt so fun
