I asked this question once already but didn't get an answer: I've been asked by one of the writers personally to sign up for this Big Bang and make an art for their work and so I want to know is it possible or I will have to fight for the first claim for their story?

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to make arrangements beforehand with a writer to illustrate for their story specifically as part of the Big Bang. Part of the point of the Bang is to partner people together who may not know one another.
When fic claims open, all the registered artists will have the same opportunity to claim any of the fics (based on an anonymous summary). It’s first-come first-served and ideally, you shouldn’t know in advance which of the stories belongs to your friend. You should just pick the one(s) that sound most interesting to you.
Of course, there’s nothing to stop you and your friend deciding to go ahead with the collaboration independently - but if they want to include the story in the Bang, they will have to wait and see which artist claims their work.
