Nonnie, I do think HW is key and that we will know around that time whether this is long term or not. I really think the next few months are going to be, shall we say, interesting, to watch.
But I will say this, I don’t think D is a willing player, even if this doesn’t end. He has fought this for so long, I will never believe they broke him so much that he agreed willingly to life imprisonment tied to the worst person in his life for his career and not one project he is tied to, in my opinion, requires this public narrative. (When Abby debunks her own lies! It’s nice to see that Abby agrees that there is NO reason he would need to be in the closet. In fact, this is true for all of his professional work. He was on Eastwick in a small role, he then got major roles, playing a gay character, then a transgender character and another gay character. Since his new work doesn’t rely on him being gay as you just said, and his previous major roles were all playing gay and transgender characters, when exactly do you imagine it did matter?) Nor will i believe that C would stay if he was so broken and chose career.
Never forget, D is living this nightmare every day, it has to be all consuming and the guilt and stress must plague him. They literally took his life 2 years ago today, and I don’t know that he has fully recovered, honestly, i don’t think he eve will. the past 2 years have been literal hell on earth and i pray for him it gets better. And that it happens soon. It has gone on for far, far too long. But we don’t know what will happen, because the people in power are strong. (this is how Abby manipulates her followers: “guilt” “hell on earth” “I pray for him” “...literally took his life away”, “people in power are strong”. Lay it on thick,and provide a storyline that indicates abuse and severe distress. Tug on those heartstrings so people feel like they have to support him or they look like bad people).

The stink of desperation has been joined by the stain of flop sweat. I’ve said before that Abs writes her own anonymous asks. Today an anon wrote she has first hand knowledge that gay actors can’t stand closeted actors getting gay roles. She goes on that someone in the gay community threatened to leak some information (thus forcing him to say he wouldn’t take any more gay roles). Now you may wonder why I refer to the anon as “she”. Easy answer: in the fourth part of her scree, she writes ”There is a whole other world where young gay men are taken advantage of in Hwood. Fact.” Nobody, nobody writes”fact” like that but Abby, and who else writes “Hwood “ but her. Same with the anon stating that Darren being gay is well known among Broadway people. As a lawyer, Abby-smal must be aware that any jury looking at the ask and answer would find them written by the same individual. Saddest of all is that Abs states that he is controlled because “he loves to act and does not want to jeopardize his career”. So one half of the greatest love ever has put his career ahead of his husband? The husband who has spent years being excluded from red carpets, trips, being seen together? The husband who has only ever been able to see his spouse on Broadway by hanging from the rafters? The husband who watched from afar as his man went to Europe and both Darren and Mia were dressed by Balmain and Chris didn’t even get a lousy t-shirt? Wow! I feel like I need to clarify my ask about the sleeve-pulling a bit.
I absolutely agree with all of you that he wasn’t entirely comfortable and he certainly showed some of his nervous tics. That ask was in no way meant to attack. I just know that you’re usually so good at pulling out the receipts and backing your statements up with facts, that I thought I’d quietly point out that small mistake about the *timing* of the sleeve-pulling so that it doesn’t get thrown in your face later on. I didn’t expect my ask to get published (though of course it doesn’t bother me) and for it to start something. That was not my intend and I apologize if anybody felt attacked by it.
